Screening and Assessments
Screening and assessments provide vital information about a child’s interests, strengths and needs. Screening gives an understanding of whether a child’s development is on track. Assessments help to establish a baseline for the child’s abilities and include information about development over a period of time. Key goals of the process include establishing a diagnosis, contextualizing the individual’s strengths and challenges, and providing intervention recommendations.
The professional systematically reviews available information for a child and builds a critical understanding of the child’s development and growth.
